Anatomy is a branch of medicine that studies the structure of the human body in macroscopic, microscopic, and developmental aspects. The Department of Anatomy generates significant contributions to the mission of the college. The department currently has a well-trained and qualified faculty and supporting staff.
The Anatomy department emphasizes clinically relevant interrelationships, functional and cross-sectional anatomy of various structures in the body, identifying microscopic structures of various organs and tissues, and correlating them with functions and abnormalities. We also lay emphasis on knowledge of basic principles of the development of organs and systems, as well as the effects of teratogens and developmental abnormalities.
Goals and Mission:
- To provide comprehensive knowledge of gross and microscopic structures of the human body including the development of the human body.
- To provide anatomical basis for understanding the clinical correlation of different organs and structures.
- Anatomical basis for disease presentation.
