Surgery General Surgery
The department is dedicated to high standards of patient care, medical research, and training of students and surgical residents. The department of surgery provides round-the-clock emergency services and OPD services, conducting minor procedures, emergency surgery, and major surgeries including management of trauma. With an OPD of more than 35,000 a year and a fully functional burn unit, surgical High Dependency Unit, and Surgical ICU, it has become the leading service provider in the field of surgery in the Hapur and NCR region.
The department takes pride in possessing several advanced surgical equipment such as Harmonic scalpel, DGHAL for hemorrhoids, and minimal invasive surgery setup. For the benefit of the students, an ENDOLAB, for learning basic skills in laparoscopic surgery including tissue handling and endosuturing, has been commissioned in the department. M.S. General Surgery has 10 recognized seats per year. The residents get the best of surgical exposure, research work with regular seminars and teaching classes in coordination with other departments like Radiotherapy and Oncology. Frequent guest lectures and workshops provide the students with recent advances in the field of surgery.

Department Objectives
Our surgical care team guidance aims to help surgeons and other healthcare professionals develop models of care that utilize the surgical care team in a consistent manner. It sets out distinct extended roles within the surgical team, and outlines competencies, training, and clear routes of entry into these roles. The ultimate aim of this work is to enhance the quality of patient care, patient experience and patient safety, to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of services, and to support the quality and experience of surgical training.
Develop super-specialities: Urology, Oncology, Surgical Gastroenterology & Minimal Access Surgery. Advanced 3D/4K Laparoscopic equipment, LASER, Bariatric Surgery, and Robotic Surgery.

The goal of the MS course in Surgery is to produce a competent surgeon who:

Objectives
At the end of the MS course in surgery, the student should be able to:
- Practice the specialty of surgery in keeping with the principles of professional ethics.
- Recognize and identify the various surgical problems.
- Institute diagnostic, therapeutic, rehabilitative, and preventive measures to provide holistic care to the patient.
- Take detailed history, perform full physical examination, and make clinical diagnosis; perform relevant investigative and therapeutic procedures.
- Interpret important imaging and laboratory results.

Post Graduate Department of Surgery
The PG department of surgery is undertaking all general surgery (major and minor), specialist surgery like Neurosurgery, Urology, Burns, Plastic & Reconstructive surgery, Onco-surgery, G.I Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Endo urology, including minimal invasive surgeries.
The Highlight of Operative Surgical Work Includes:
- Major and Minor General surgery which includes elective and emergency operations.
- Laparoscopic surgeries including Lap Cholecystectomy, Lap Appendectomy, Lap hernia repair, diagnostic laparoscopy, and other laparoscopic surgeries as and when required.
- Urology: Both open and endo urological surgeries like operations on the prostate, surgeries for stones, surgery for stricture urethra, TURP, OIU.
- Neurosurgery: Elective and emergency neurosurgery for EDH, ICSOL, Hydrocephalus and surgery for congenital pediatric neurosurgical disorders.
- Burns, Plastic, and Reconstructive surgeries: Flaps, skin graftings, reconstructive procedures, cosmetic surgery.
- Oncosurgery: Cancer surgery for breast, Head & Neck, GIT, and Genito-urinary tract.
The department actively encourages faculty and PG students to attend and participate in various conferences and workshops at state, national, and international levels. The faculty has presented papers and posters in several conferences. Senior faculty are invited to chair sessions and deliver guest lectures at various academic forums.
